In our line of “Meet a COACH” interviews we have this time spoken with Line Kiaerskou from our Sales Team. Line is not only bringing a lot of shipping experience – especially within the Heavy Lift and Multi Purpose Vessel segments – to the Sales Team, her outgoing personality is something we all enjoy here at COACH Solutions as well.


Let us start with the basics, who are you?
My name is Line Kiaerskou and I am 41 years old. I live in Copenhagen close to the office.

What is your role here at COACH Solutions?
My role as a  Sales Manager is pretty widespread. My primary focus is on potential clients and maintaining relationships with existing clients. On top of that there are a lot of different tasks – both internally and externally – related to the commercial side of COACH Solutions that keeps me busy.

Tell us your “story” before joining COACH? What have you been doing?
I have been in the shipping industry for more than 22 years by now. First as a ship’s agent here in Denmark, then I moved to Hamburg and started in operations. The time in Hamburg also gave me the opportunity to play team handball at a professional level for a couple of years. After some years I then moved to Dubai and became more commercially involved in sales and chartering. I then moved back to Hamburg for a couple of years before joining COACH Solutions. So for the most part of my time in shipping I have worked in the Heavy Lift and Multi Purpose Vessel segments.

Why did you join COACH?
With my background working for different shipping companies for many years COACH Solution seemed like the perfect match for me in terms of using my experience and my network to reach out to companies who are looking at optimizing their business from a weather routing vessel performance perspective. Working with reducing the environmental footprint and optimizing voyages feels good and the feeling when our customers are happy is simply the best!

Further, we are a young ambitious team where the atmosphere is down to earth, friendly and a lot of fun!

Can you take us through a typical day for you here at COACH Solutions.
Every morning starts with a morning meeting in our Sales Team where we talk about the potential leads, meetings, online demos etc. Then I start “chasing” all the operators/owners who not yet have been introduced to our solutions meanwhile focusing on the existing leads/clients.

Describe yourself as a person in a few words?
Outgoing, social, and I like a good laugh.

What motivates and drives you?
Teamwork, feeling trusted and appreciated and of course to SELL!

Tell us what you are doing after “punching out” or during the weekends?
After punching out I typically go for a run or go to the gym…I am quit the foodie so often I have dinner plans with friends trying out new restaurants here in the “food mecca” of Copenhagen.
Sometimes, I also just hit the couch and binge watch series.
